Start with the source
Use a defined source such as one lecture or one chapter. A focused source makes it easier to know what the summary covers and what still needs direct checking.

Treat the summary as a map
Scan the structure first, then return to the source for exact definitions, examples and figures. The summary should shorten navigation, not replace the material.
- Identify the main concepts.

Close the summary and rebuild its main points from memory. Anything you cannot reconstruct becomes a target for review or a practice question.
